Legos and a Play Date

On Tuesday, (Nov. 5th) we started up with our second semester of Library classes.  She was happy to be back in it again as she had been asking when we were going.  When I went to piano she and Daddy spent their first real session together building with my old Legos.  Daddy fixes such cool things whereas Mommy's are just the basics.  The Legos have really been entertaining her since I got them down the other day.  I sure to remember many a good times playing with these same Legos with Aaron and Adam as kids.  Glad that they are still around!

Later on we went to Ian's for dinner and a play date.  Annaliese and Ian actually got along very well.  She didn't have any "upset" episodes and consciously used some of our strategies for handling her frustration with peers.  What she didn't practice was using the potty and had two accidents while we were there.

The Great Toy Catalog

On Monday, (Nov. 4) Annaliese had some fun looking at the Toys R' Us catalog from the mail.  She laid on the floor for a very long time checking it all out and circling things that she liked.  When asked what she wants for Christmas the answer is the same as it has been each year for as long as she could talk..."baby stuff."  I really don't know what other "baby stuff" is out there that we don't already have but I guess I will have to keep shopping!

Wrong Door

At Sunday School this morning (Nov. 3rd) I had to teach the class.  Because I was the only one in there I had to send the kids down the hall to go to the bathroom on their own.  So when it was Annaliese's turn I sent her down just like everyone else.  It was the end of Sunday School and parents had crowded in the hallway.  As I was saying goodbye to a few parents, Annaliese comes running back into the room crying and very upset.  She had tried to open the door to what she thought was the bathroom but was really a closet.  She got very nervous/upset and overwhelmed by all the people and came running back to find me.  She didn't want to go to the bathroom alone anymore after that.  Needless to say, I must have a parent in their next week so that we can tag team with helping the kiddos in the bathroom.  This was really one of the first times I had seen Annaliese really upset like this because of something she had experienced alone because she really has not had many experiences away from me.  A first for both of us...poor baby...Mommy felt so bad.

Later we came home and cleaned the garage and garage attic...to clear the way for Christmas decorations to come down...yay! Love that Christmas is on the way.  By the way,  Annaliese and I started listening to Christmas music Nov 1st!!  With Thanksgiving coming late I'm not waiting until then or I just won't get enough.  I guess I'm Christmas programmed because I have already been practicing my piano pieces for the Christmas recital.  Love, love this time of year!

Another Birthday Party

On Saturday, (Nov. 2nd) we celebrated another birthday this time for sweet Leah!  This weekend we only had one!  We headed to her Dora themed birthday.  Annaliese enjoyed the bounce house, cookie decorating, and craft!

Dress Up Mornings

First thing she looked for when she woke up...the Treat Bag
In the mornings when we wake up and dress Annaliese likes to go in my closet and help herself to whatever she finds.  She woke up the day after Halloween (Nov. 1st)  in a happy mood and all "dressed" for the day. We had a relaxing rest of our day at home!

Happy Halloween 2013

Halloween this year was one busy day!  We started out at music, home for lunch, and then off to gymnastics!  After gymnastics we headed to Walgreens for a free photo op and then to Trick-or-Treating at the library.  We came home after that for some fun costume photos outside.  I was so excited to have Annaliese wear this "vintage" costume.  This little Dutch girl costume was my mother's dance costume when she was little.  Then I wore it as a costume in one of my dance recitals in 1984.  When I thought about what she could be this year for Halloween I immediately knew that I wanted her to wear this costume...for 3 generations!  For this costume to be from the 50's it has held up pretty well!  The string at the bottom was unraveling a little and it did have a few "age spots" but otherwise looked pretty good and fit great!  She even wore real "Dutch shoes" from Holland that my grandparents brought back from one of their journeys there.  We spent Halloween night at Boo's house.  Annaliese really enjoyed trick-or-treating.  She went up, said "the words," and thank each person.  She liked riding in the wagon too and checking out all of the other children.  It was so nice to have a fairly warm night for trick-or-treating as I didn't have to cover up her costume.  She wasn't too fond of the hat though and had it off most of the night.  When we were done she loved looking at all of the candy and didn't mind sharing with everyone else.  Overall, Halloween was great!

Nala wanted to Trick-or-Treat too so she went with us.  Except she didn't walk the whole way and instead got held in Eric's sweatshirt!

Halloween Dance Party

So for dance Wednesday night (the 30th) they had a Halloween Party.  She didn't get to do this last year because we were out of town but made up for it this year.  She wore her real Halloween costume tonight as it originally was a dance costume, will explain later.  The girls had a blast!

Halloween Bash at the Library

On Wednesday, (the 30th) we headed to Little Creek Library for the second year to attend their Halloween Bash.  I decided that since Annaliese's vintage costume was so delicate she should only wear it for the important Halloween events so this morning she was a surgeon.  I stated before that she is all into this because of Daddy and recently Maison so we went into the dress up box and doctor kit and whipped up this cute surgeon costume.
